Autograph musical quotation signed "Janvier 1903, Zygmunt Noskowski, Compositeur et Prof. de Conservatoire à Varsovie." - Zygmunt Noskowski (1846-1909), Polish composer and teacher, was one of the leading figures in Polish music during the late 19th century and the first decade of the 20th. He taught virtually all of the important Polish composers of the next generation, including Szymanowski and Rosycki. Due to his early employment in a Warsaw school for the blind he invented a system of music notation for the blind.
Zygmunt Noskowski (1846-1909), polnischer Komponist, Dirigent und Musikpädagoge, studierte in Warschau bei Moniuszko und in Berlin bei Kiel, erfand eine Notenschrift für Blinde. Ab 1881 wieder in Warschau, hier Lehrer u.a. von Rozycki und Szymanowski.
